Safety halls--an evaluation

Article Abstract:

The study is conducted to evaluate the effects of visiting a safety hall in combination with mandatory skid training on the knowledge and attitudes of learner drivers with regard to airbags, securing loads, seat belts, sitting posture, speed and tires. It is observed that the use of safety halls has improved the knowledge and attitudes of learner drivers concerning several important areas related to traffic safety.

Connecticut statewide sTEP wave evaluation

Article Abstract:

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT's) Division of Highway Safety has organized a statewide seat belt enforcement program, with sTEP (Selective Traffic Enforcement Programs) waves to check motorists' behavior. It is clearly demonstrated that agencies that have participated in a greater number of waves have experienced the greatest increase in belt use.

On the joint valuation of averting fatal and severe injuries in highway accidents

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to represent a further development of the stated choice approach for safety valuation as an alternative to CV (contingent valuation) and risk-risk approach. It is indicated that there is a need to revise current Chilean safety values for cost-benefit analysis.
