Survey of passenger and driver attitudes in airbag deployment crashes

Article Abstract:

One hundred forty-five automobile drivers and 135 passengers who were involved in crashes in which passenger and driver airbags were deployed were interviewed to determine their attitudes and reactions to the experience. The findings indicate that the airbag deployment experience is generally perceived favorably by both groups. Only 5% of the respondents reported having a problem with air-bag deployment. Nearly all of those interviewed expressed a preference for dual airbags in their next automobile.
