The quest for ballast - free ships

Article Abstract:

The various ballast water treatment systems used till date do not provide a complete solution to controlling non-indigenous aquatic species. Therefore specialists in motor industry now concentrate on developing ballast free ships. An analysis on designing a V-shaped based ballast free VLCC tanker hull, using a thorough flow system and the merit of Manomaran idea is presented.
