A structural analysis of destination travel intentions as a function of Web site features

Article Abstract:

A structural equation modeling analysis is conducted to investigate the interrelated influences of Web site characteristics of navigation, content and accessibility, perceived Web site usefulness and the impact of consumer characteristics like previous visit, online travel planning experience and Internet use for vacation planning on intentions to travel to a destination. The model presents Web site usefulness as a predictor of intent to travel, thus assisting destination-marketing organizations in attracting more travelers to their destination through cost-effective marketing techniques.
