'Book in advance' is Disney park's theme

Article Abstract:

Walt Disney World Co. wants to encourage its visitors to buy park tickets in advance and it has produced a holiday planning video to inform tourists about the range of attractions which are available at Disney World. They will then realise that they cannot see everything in one or two days and really need a four or five day ticket. Disney offers trips to tour operators so they can familiarize themselves with the attractions and advise tourists about how long to stay. The United Kingdom is Disney World's main international market.

Salou is aiming to rival Disneyland

Article Abstract:

The new Port Aventura theme park at Salou, near Barcelona, Spain, is due to open shortly. It hopes to attract 2.5 million visitors in its first year, reaching 3 million a year by the end of the 1990s. It is situated on a 115 ha site, and is the second-largest theme park in Europe. It believes that it will compete strongly with Disneyland Paris, as it benefits from better weather and does not need such large visitor numbers in order to make a profit.
