The sudden increase in the low-carbohydrate diets has resulted in consumers avoiding carbohydrates and preferring protein-rich foods. To satisfy the consumer's requirements of low-carbohydrate diets, fast-food chains and manufacturers of desserts, breads, pastas and other food items are introducing low-carbohydrate food items.

Desert storm: exotic ice cream and gelato may be tantalizing but vanilla still rules

Gelato, which is creamier than ice cream but has low fat and provides a non-diary alternative for people suffering with allergies, is becoming very popular. People are willing to try new flavors of ice cream containing herbs and fruits, but vanilla ice cream still holds the interest of the people.
