Theme park Alton Towers' new Oblivion ride is aimed at the 15 to 24 age group, according to Alton Towers Director of Marketing Glen Earlam. He focused on creating a brand and on verifying the claim that the ride was the first vertical drop rollercoaster in the world. It is vital to be very focused when planning a new theme park ride, according to J Walter Thompson Planning Director Gary Moss, who has worked with Alton Towers since 1991 on brand and product mix.
