Identifying the success factors of web-based marketing strategy: An investigation of convention and visitors bureaus in the United States

Article Abstract:

The study is carried out to examine the factors affecting the success of Web-based marketing strategies by American convention and visitors bureaus. The results indicate that successful Web marketing strategies require the integration and coordination of three complementary aspects of the Internet marketing efforts as well as favorable organization and technology environment and innovative approaches.

Expenditures of accommodations tax revenue: A South Carolina study

Article Abstract:

A study evaluates how small communities and rural counties across the State of South Carolina spend funds raised by accommodation taxes paid by nonresident visitors. Results suggest that these entities focus their tourism dollar expenditures toward 'motivational' endeavors such as cultural festivals and tourism-related special events in order to enable further tourism growth.

Travel blogs and the implications for destination marketing

Article Abstract:

A study on travel blogs as a manifestation of travel experience is presented. Results conclude that travel blogs are the cheapest way to gather rich, reliable and unsolicited customer feedback.
