Laser boom

Article Abstract:

Future success of the laser games market depends on creating products that appeal not only to the male 8-22 age range, but also to families, couples and women. Currently the three main systems are Laser Quest, Quasar and Laser Force. The flexibility of Laser Quest makes it suitable for a range of ages and skill levels. Quasar is attractive for its impact in conjunction with other activities available at the same site.. Laser Force is a cheaper version which requires an investment of 20,000 pounds sterling compared to 150,000 pounds. Market research is essential to assess the possibility of competition in the future.

Rural bliss

Article Abstract:

Well-managed log cabin leisure operations are economically viable. Schemes may be small with up to 12 cabins, medium with up to 40 cabins and additional facilities, or large independent operations. Different size cabins sleep between two and eight people. Many suppliers are offering small cabins, considered as caravans in terms of the Town and Country Planning Act. Many caravan operators are therefore replacing caravans with cabins. Working life of quality cabins may be up 40-60 years. Effective insulation makes them economical to run.

Healthy indulgence

Article Abstract:

Frozen yoghurt provides a healthy treat which is ideally suited to marketing through the leisure industry. Consumer weight consciousness and awareness of healthy eating provides a profit opportunity to sell a low-fat, protein-, calcium- and carbohydrate-rich convenience food containing no cholesterol. Over 70% margins on food cost make frozen yoghurt attractive to the retailer. Effective merchandising is essential to overcome initial resistance. Sales in America reached about 1.5 billion pounds sterling in 1991.
