Lease hours

Article Abstract:

Parties involved in leasehold property agreements should ensure they have good legal advice, as there are many potential problems in the new types of leases being negotiated for out-of-town leisure developments and town centre pubs. Lawyers have introduced new documentation specifically for out-of-town leisure developments, and the structuring of leases has to accommodate a range of facets, including the flexibility of development in the future, and unique licensing regulations. New legal considerations relating to town centre pubs relate to the new, differentiated concepts in licensed premises.

Open all hours

Article Abstract:

Demand for businesses to provide services and goods on a 24-hourly basis is growing in the UK. A report by the Future Foundation suggests people spend more quality time working, enabling them to devote more time to leisure activities, such as eating out or going to the cinema. Food delivery services are increasingly extending their hours into the early morning. The report, called The 24 Hour Society, was commissioned by British Telecom and First Direct because of their existing interests in 24-hour operations. The report identified younger adults as main users of 24-hour services.

Lease of life

Article Abstract:

There are three kinds of leasing which can enable businesses to acquire equipment without financial hardship. These include finance lease, which involves rental of equipment over a fixed period with the option to continue renting after that date, operating lease, whereby a finance house or lessor recovers equipment after a predetermined period for a particular project, and hire/lease purchase, whereby equipment is paid for in stages which can be adjusted to suit seasonal income.
