Singapore is being included on the Asian tour programmes of many Italian operators. Three day two night extensions are offered to enable Italians to shop. In 1994, Skimar of Milan sent 600 clients to Singapore. Although prices in Singapore are higher than Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok, they compete with Japan and Hong Kong. The majority of packages include Italian- or English speaking guides for excursions, transfers, and superior hotels.

French travellers are attracted by India's wildlife and festivals

Article Abstract:

Over the last ten years the number of French visitors to India has risen to 80,000 per year, from 70,000. French travellers are currently drawn by India's festivals and wildlife. The most popular destination for first-timers is Rajasthan, while the seasoned traveller tends to prefer southern India. Only 20% of French travellers book an organised tour, the remainder prefer to do their own thing.

China Airlines is promoting Taiwan as a stopover destination for leisure travellers. The country boasts a variety of attractions including the cuisine, the Lungshan temple, the National Palace Museum, Taroko Gorge, and the Formosan village of Wulai. Taiwan is also home to a wide variety of birds, with 14 species and 69 sub-species unique to it. Butterfly collector tours are also available.
