Tasty morsels

Article Abstract:

The need for UK hospitality industry workers to be further trained to reach the levels of service provided by US restaurant workers was mentioned by one speaker at the Restaurant 98 Conference. The possibility of opening restaurants in hotels was also suggested. Another speaker pointed out some customers wanted an alternative to branded restaurants. It was recognized how the introduction of share option schemes helped to motivate staff. The conference was held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Mayfair, London, England.
