The tea drinking in Canada is on the rise as 40% of the population believe it is good for health and year 2003 tea imports touched an all time high of 20 million kilograms. The quick service eateries are the main tea serving entities. Specialty tea preparations like green tea are in more demand and recipes for some tea varieties are also given.

In Canada 6,45,498 kilograms of coffee was sold in 2003 as against 21,000 kilograms in 1998 and the trend is expected to continue. The industry is now offering more varieties and organically grown coffee.
