Where there's no smoke ... there may be fire

Article Abstract:

Foodservice operators are having difficulties complying with the British Columbia Workers Compensation Board's (WCB) ruling that bans smoking in all work locations in British Columbia, Canada, effective Jan 1, 2000. While pubs and bars throughout the province are attempting to comply with the WCB no smoking regulation, they claim that revenues have declined 15%- 65%, and as of Jan 20, 500 jobs have been terminated because of the ruling. Penalties for non-compliance range from C$1,500-C$4,500.
