Saving room for Ocelots

Article Abstract:

The bushland habitat in southern Texas of species such as the ocelot will be protected in a joint arrangement between the Bayview Irrigation District 11 and the US Fish and Wildlife Services. The jaguarundi is another cat species which would be protected in the same area. Conservation of the bushland habitat for the cats, birds and other wildlife there, will be done in concert with the irrigation needs of the farmers in the area. Modification of the maintenance of the irrigations drainage ditches, though not cost effective, ensures the protection of wild life.
