A new look at iron sights

Article Abstract:

Although modern hunters can avail themselves of the most reliable and accurate rifles with optical scopes, some of them are returning to classic "iron" sights, nostalgic for the days of hunting rather than "harvesting" game. Iron sights are used traditionally on blackpowder rifles, but are now becoming available on modern rifles.

Binoculars for the field: bigger isn't always better

Article Abstract:

Hunters should own a variety of different binoculars depending on the terrain and distance of their usual quarry. Magnification is only part of the equation; ways of evaluating diffraction (fuzziness or image degradation) are analyzed.

Optics for whitetails

Article Abstract:

Advice is presented on the use of optical scopes to increase a hunter's chances of killing a whitetail buck deer. A light low powered glass in recommended for the best results.
