Article Abstract:
Updates on railroad policies, such as the Swiss National Railroads' "Rail 2000", and rail constuction in England, Italy, Germany and Switzerland are provided. The "Rail 2000" is a plan designed for the modernization of Switzerland's rail network. Developments in the Channel Tunnel Rail Link construction and the ETR 470 Pendolino tilting trains, are presented.
