Americans abroad

Article Abstract:

An analysis of how the locals in 17 countries around the world are reacting to Americans travelers in the aftermath of the invasion of Iraq. By and large, Americans were not mistreated anywhere, with the majority of people being able to distinguish between the actions of the US government and individual US citizens.

A personal narrative is presented describing the experiences of getting to know the Chinese city of Shanghai. With a skyline that has shot up in just ten years, a new stock market, and billions of dollars in foreign investment, Shanghai is one of the fastest growing cities in the world.
