Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego is the embarkation point for mv Discovery's voyage to Antartica. Excursions to Antartica are subject to weather and ice conditions but the cruise prepares alternate activities for their passengers. Whales, seals, penguins, and icebergs are things to look out for in trips like these. A visit to penguin rookeries guided by naturalists and other activities on board the ship are presented.
