Article Abstract:

The National Association of Realtors and Smart Growth America in a survey showed that 72 percent of respondents believed that having sidewalks and places to walk was a top priority in choosing where to live. Some environmentally sensitive homes in the golf communities that offer the green-oriented homebuyer, from on-site daycare and concierge services to lakes and wildlife habitats are described.

ElderSpirit, the nation's first mixed-income cohousing communities where retirees intent on living actively and independently is presented. Residents of cohousing communities own or rent their own homes, which is a mix of small houses, townhouses or condominiums, manage their own money and in their own kitchens.
