Banks slash travel benefits: cutting charge-card earnings and awards

Article Abstract:

The frequent flyer benefits available from certain credit cards issued by banks may be reduced or eliminated over the next few months, if they have not already been eliminated. The changes come as banks have lost money on the programs as people have paid off their balances, yet earned mileage.

SkyMiles card: do its extras pay off for you?

Article Abstract:

Delta and American Express offer the SkyMiles credit card for frequent flyers. The card differs from similar programs in that it is an Optima card, offers more mileage for Delta air ticket purchases unlike other airline credit cards and provides mileage credit for carrying a balance.

FTC and states zap card mills, scamsters

Article Abstract:

The Federal Trade Commission worked with different states to investigate and close down travel operators that defrauded or used illegal practices on customers. The investigation resulted from complaints filed by consumers who were victims of mismanagement and outright fraud.
