Big airlines go head-to-head in California

Article Abstract:

USAir Inc and Southwest Airlines Co offer the lowest fares for flights between Northern and Southern California. The two companies do not fly to and from the same destinations, which makes the reduced fares more convenient to passengers. Other fare reductions on the route are described.

Southwest hits East Coast: fares plummet

Article Abstract:

Southwest Airlines Co introduced low unrestricted fares on several routes throughout the East Coast, and several competitors matched the fares with a limited number of seats. Southwest is known for its no-frills service, but it compares well with other, higher-priced airlines.
