More miles without flying: banks, agencies join trend

Article Abstract:

Banks now offer credit card users an opportunity to earn frequent flier mileage for their purchases instead of flying to earn miles. Descriptions of the three latest programs are given. Changes to two existing programs and the Hotel Reservations Network program are also given.

BofA's new Visa earns free airline tickets

Article Abstract:

The Bank of America now offers a Travel Choices Visa card that will allow users to build credit and eventually earn the right to have the bank purchase an airline ticket. The program allows more flexibility for customers and lower fees, but also does not offer ticket upgrades.

More charge-card miles

Article Abstract:

Wells Fargo Bank and Stop & Shop Supermarkets now offer credit cards that accrue points that can be exchanged for travel. Wells Fargo's card has credit accumulation limits and charges a high interest rate and use fee. Stop & Shop's program offers more travel options.
