Dangerous rapture

Article Abstract:

Tourists who visit famous locations can become subject to a condition known as the Stendahl syndrome. This syndrome is named after the French novelist who first described its effects. Tourists who experience this condition feel suddenly exhausted and dizzy. It was theorized that some places such as the Vatican overwhelm visitors because of their aesthetic beauty and religious significance.
