Death in the water

Article Abstract:

John Mawsdley's drowning death in the 1995 Chicago Triathlon raised serious concern about the management and safety of the event. In 1994 a swimmer in the triathlon suffered a fatal heart attack. Supporters maintain the event is carefully planned and have established additional safety procedures.

Paint by letters: a loquacious artist goes commercial, so to speak

Nordine, age 75, became a well-known radio/TV commercial voice with 34 Fuller Paint Co. radio ads in the early 1960s. His poetic, resonant voice is now available on two CDs, 'Colors' - the paint ads, and 'Incredibly Strange Music, vol. II.' He calls his live improvisatory work 'word jazz.'

The students and their professor through their research were able to secure the release of four men unjustly convicted of murder who had served 18 years. Recounted is the story of how all of these players, and others, are now scabbling over movie rights, and credits for an upcoming movie.
