A woman in the airplane asks the man why he settled there, and he asks himself why he stayed so long in Ambler, Alaska. The Ambler village was nothing to look at, but eventually he saw the subtle beauty of the landscape and felt the relaxed rhythm of the town, and years passed.

Article Abstract:

A man who decided to use sled dogs to move a boat that he made about 45 miles in snow in Alaska ended up in a greater undertaking than he imagined. Even with more than 60 sled dogs and two snow machines, the boat still did not move very far. The boat was eventually moved.
