Hiding between the lines

Article Abstract:

The true story of Norman Potter who is imprisoned for murder, but later escapes from prison to spend 20 wild years as J.J. Jameson, a well-known drunken poet and a friend to many in Chicago, is narrated. He is finally captured and arrested by the police which shocks his Chicago friends and makes them wonder how a person they seemed to have known so well could turn out to be so drastically different.
