A young lawyer named Dee Grant is an anti-preservationist who wants to protect homeowners in potential landmark districts from aldermanic whim and bureaucratic burdens. Her mission is to save Chicago homeowners from preservationists and neighborhood activists who use the government as a vehicle to take a piece of their property by force without just compensation.
