A traveler relates how the once aristocratic boulevard of Provence is succumbing to traffic and other signs of deterioration. The center of the city, the Cours Mirabeau, is already being crowded with cars. There are many cafes in the streets, which include the famous Deux Garcons cafe.

A traveler recounts visit in the old Jamaican sugar warehouses and other houses untouched since the 18th century. These include a hospital of Palladian style built for black slaves and an Anglican Church, which are all reminiscent of the slavery era.
