Article Abstract:

Northwest Eskimos still talk of the man born among them in the early 1800s who was believed to have had the gift of prescience. Almost two centuries after Maniilaq's disappearance, the Northwest Eskimos still search in the sky for signs of the big snowstorm that the man said will envelop the world.

A jet boat allows riders to navigate through remote areas not usually accessible by other boats, as they are similar in design to jet skis. Care must be given when driving the boat to prevent getting stuck or having accidents.

Wolves hunting a moose in rural Alaska are described. Their hunt is reconstructed from their tracks and the corpse of their prey. Wolves seldom allow themselves to be seen but are usually not threatening to people.
