The ties that bind

Article Abstract:

The bow tie is not so much a fashion statement as a reflection of an individual's uniqueness, spirit and understated defiance. Charles Osgood, the host of the `Sunday Morning' television program, once appeared in a necktie and generated massive audience response for not wearing his revered bow tie. He tried to use the excuse that he had dressed in the dark, but it did him no good. At last, he decided to defy his fans with a tendency for sartorial inconsistency.
