Most Western cowboys in the olden times carried their handguns in a pommel holster or saddlebag holster which is connected to their saddles. Main & Winchester, one of the first companies that developed the holster, made holsters that are slender and sewn in toe plugs.

A seven-year study on television volence showed that TV exposure influences real-life violence. Although not all agree with this findings, there have been very few who challenged the claim. Because of this, the US Congress passed the Television Violence Act in 1990.
