The National Rifle Association of America strongly supports efforts by the government to protect the public from violent criminals. It believes that dangerous cities should be given priority for a Project Exile type enforcement initiative.

The campaign finance reform bill sponsored by Sen. John McCain will make it more difficult for groups such as the NRA exercise its constitutionally protected right to free speech, and therefore threatens the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.

Article Abstract:

Sen. John McCain's campaign finance reform bill, S. 27, would hurt National Rifle Association lobbying efforts, but would allow individual contributions to officeholders for daily office expenses. McCain's main supporter, Monster.com founder Andrew McElvey, is anti-gun.
