Article Abstract:

Three top charter captains speak about how they go about scoring with the popular and great-tasting game fish i.e. blackfin and yellowfin tuna. Captain Ken Nolte, who runs a 29-foot Luhrs out of Port Mansfield, on the lower Texas coast, and has 22 years of experience in catching tuna states that he would like to troll five lines, all rigged with ballyhoo.

April and May are the best months to find big snapper in the waters of Gulf of Mexico, as there is lack of fishing pressure and the water temperatures in the 65- to 70-degree range. It is mentioned that the best thing about early-season snapper is that the fish can be found in shallow water and are relatively easy to catch.
