The Army's "light rifle." (M1 carbine)

Article Abstract:

The rich military history of the M1 Carbine rifle has made it one of the most popular subjects for firearms collectors. The M1 was originally introduced during World War I and its use continued on through the Vietnam War. The model's lightweight design made it an ideal combat weapon.

The Winchester Garand

Winchester Repeating Arms Company of New Haven manufactured myriad types of high-quality firearms that includes several types of bolt-action and carbines. Winchester made a vital contribution to America's war effort during World War II by making more than a half-million Garands.

The first '03s

Article Abstract:

The model 1903 Springfield rifle and the .30-'06 cartridge are a familiar combination for shooters and gun collectors. However, the original M1903 was called the 'Rod Bayonet" '03 and was chambered for .30-'03 cartridge.
