Taking a Bite out of Recoil

Article Abstract:

New loads from Federal and Remington take two different approaches to reducing recoil in hunting ammunition and they deliver enough performance for deer under the right circumstances and are easy on a young-or old-shooter's shoulder. Federal used a heavy bullet at a low velocity while Remington used a lighter-weight bullet at a slightly reduced velocity, both incorporated bullets built for deer-sized game.

Barnes bullets was founded in 1932 in Bayfield, Colo., by Fred Barnes where the company developed a reputation for deep-penetrating bullets that were heavy-for-caliber.
