The guns of Iwo Jima...

Article Abstract:

A group of living historians and veterans of Iwo Jima assembled together to remember the sacrifice and service of those who fought the closing battle of World War II in 2005 sixty years after the war. Jeff Hunt, Curator of Collections and Director of Living History for the Museum of the Pacific War gave credit to al the volunteers who spent months hand-clearing the hillside, building fortifications and setting up fences and roads for the spectators to watch in safety.

XM8: The Army's new rifle?

Article Abstract:

Heckler and Koch has developed XM8 rifle where the configuration is tapped by an insight technology optical sight that is also an infrared illuminator. The XM8 uses a tappet rod gas system as opposed to the direct impingement design of the M16/AR-15-series.
