The real silent majority

Article Abstract:

The recession that began in 1989 particularly hurt middle-class blacks. Many were laid off in larger numbers than their white counterparts and remained unemployed for longer periods. Although they share many similarities with the white middle-class, the black middle-class still believe they receive less opportunities.
