Article Abstract:

Enthusiasm and enjoyment at work enables an employee to be more productitve. Employees can make their work less tedious and more enjoyable by learning more about their jobs and actively participating in office activities that can improve performance and work attitudes. They can find creative ways to make their jobs less routine and embark on self-improvement activities which will provide them with realistic self-evaluations and enable them to face challenges, handle stress and adapt to change. Rest and leisure activities will give them time to recharge while attending to their personal lives.

The art of successful negotiation involves feeling good about the outcome as well as making the other party feel the same way. This is a win-win situation. The three other less desirable instances characterized by a lose-lose, lose-win and win-lose situations are presented and illustrated by examples. A hypothetical situation at a department meeting is presented to test negotiation skills.
