The mutation on the description requirement gene

Article Abstract:

There was no question that a genus complied with the description requirement if a was originally disclosed before the ruling in University of California v. Eli Lilly & Co, but this decision has the potential for causing havoc in the biotechnology field. It has told many early figures in the field that even though they have enablingly disclosed inventions that advanced the art, they should have waited to file until additional information could fully characterize their inventions. Thus, many of these patents may be held invalid because sequence information is missing.
