Against all odds: the fight for worldwide immunization

Article Abstract:

Diphtheria, measles, whooping cough, tuberculosis, tetanus and polio kill over 250,000 children a week in developing countries. These are diseases for which inexpensive vaccines exist. The struggle to distribute these vaccines is described in the book 'A Chance to Live' by June Goodfield.

A certifiable health club

The American College of Sports Medicine will begin a voluntary health club certification program in 1993. The certification is neither mandatory nor legal, but it is expected to set the industry standards and to appeal to customers looking for a reliable fitness facility.
