A woman journalist recalls the time she and her boyfriend's little sister had their pedicure. Prior to the pedicure, she was very self-conscious about her feet which she considered pudgy and ugly. After an hour spent with a foot stylist, she emerged with a new-found confidence about her feet.

Women can prevent or minimize foot pain by exercising their feet and wearing comfortable shoes. The most common problems include hammertoes, bunions, ingrown toenails and toenail fungus. Foot pain can also be avoided by cleaning the feet regularly to prevent fungal and viral infections.
