The children below the age of 10 years are mostly motivated to accept racial differences for which the parents should not encourage, instead teach them to respect all kinds of people and make friends of all kinds. The children of working mothers who are more exposed to different people have to be taught that all children are same regardless of color or caste.

Stepfamilies may be thrilling to the new husband and wife, but the children especially in their teens need some time to accept the step-parents and the step-siblings. Balance in the family can be brought about by just ignoring the small conflicts arising between the step-siblings and more important is to forget about the ex-spouses as far as possible.
