Cold-season comfort

Article Abstract:

Heavy exercise during the colder months can suppress the immune system and make it more likely to get sick, but moderate exercise appears to actually prevent illnesses. Common cold sufferers can continue their exercise routines, but flu suffers should forgo them until better.

The disease-phyters: nutrition fads come and go, but phytochemicals may be the real thing

Article Abstract:

More than 200 studies have shown that eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables reduces the risk of cancer. Some researchers believe phytochemicals found in fresh produce this protective effect. A list of seven phytochemicals, their functions and sources is included.
