Early primaries pose new challenges

Article Abstract:

Women candidates who are challenging right wing extremists in the elections need support from all women to make it through the primaries. The National Organization for Women member, Anita Rufus, who challenges Rep. Sonny Bono for the US House seat in Palm Springs, California, is popular among her community members. She has the experience of being a single mother and has moved on to become a top executive in a large corporation. Full-fledged support from women is the only way of assuring that Anita and other women have an edge over men during elections.
