Many women are abandoning diets in favor of nondiet regimes that stress lifestyle changes rather than deprivation. Two Canadian organizations that help women explore nondiet methods are Hugs International and Healthy Options, both of which teach women how to set realistic weight-loss goals.

People who are on a strict, carefully planned diet may fall into a food rut if they eliminate important food groups such as meat and eggs. A truly healthy diet combines variety with controlled portions and contains items from the four food groups.

Urinary incontinence is a normal disorder among young and older women. This is caused by pregnancy, childbirth or the decline of estrogen levels. Women can do Kegel exercises, have physiotherapy or undergo surgery to treat this urinary disorder.
