Phytomass and carbon storage in the steppes of Eastern Andalusia, Spain

Article Abstract:

The degradation of Spain's Eastern Andalusian steppes is due primarily to the impact of human activity and the presence of livestock. The floristic physionomy and composition of this human-originated degradation is demonstrated in carbon storage and phytomass levels, which decrease as steppization increases. All steppes in the region show a broad diversity of features.
