Seat belts and mums-to-be

Article Abstract:

Electrolux Klippan, which makes Kangol seatbelts and car-seats for children, is introducing Comfitum, an accessory for seatbelts for pregnant women. Advice is also being offered about the best way for mothers-to-be to travel in cars safely. A British Medical Journal survey of the ladies in question, and injuries seen in hospital show that in most cases the lap portion of the seatbelt comes up too high, which is dangerous and can press on the stomach during an accident, and that no advice or incorrect advice is often given by maternity units.
