More and more companies are instituting child care benefit programs as they recognize that one of the major problems of working parents is getting affordable child care. Four child care plans are described, namely, direct payment, voucher program, day care discount and company-shared dependent care spending accounts.

Child care costs can be reduced if working parents have available to them flexible spending accounts through their employers or if they take advantage of the child care tax credit. IRS laws that pertain to the two programs are described.
