Procter & Gamble and other snack-food makers are making synthetic-fat products available to health-conscious consumers. But there is evidence many of these products are devoid of nutrients. Also, snack foods constitute only a small portion of the fat calories consumed daily in the US.

Danger: diet drugs

Article Abstract:

The combinative use of appetite suppressant drugs such as fen-phen have been found to possibly cause heart valve disorders. Aside from fatal side-effects such as fatigue and leg swelling, these drugs have also been linked to the development of primary pulmonary hypertension.
